Want to look your best this Christmas? Book a Facial Rejuvenation treatment at Linia

November 4, 2009 by

Christmas is just around the corner, and we all like to look our best for the festive season.  Why  not treat yourself to an early Christmas present with a Facial Rejuvenation treatment at Linia? Most of Linia’s minimal access facelift techniques take just up to two weeks to heal, so there’s still plenty of time if you’re planning to look your best for Christmas.

An effective facial rejuvenation package uses a selection of “short-scar” techniques and non-surgical procedures to provide a balanced, natural result. Linia’s minimal access procedures involve making small incisions in the skin, which enables a more efficient and successful procedure for the surgeon, and there is minimal scarring for the patient.

A number of minimal access lifts are available at Linia such as:

•         S-LIFT: Lifts lower half of face, upper and lower part of neck.

•         N-LIFT: Treats whole neck as well as the jowls.

•         MACS LIFT: Lifts mid-face and upper jowls, scars hidden in upper part of ear and hairline.

•         C-LIFT: Lifts cheeks through small incisions on outer sides of eyes or temple.

•         I-LIFT: Uses threads with tiny hooks to lift and tighten underlying muscles.

•         LATERAL BROWPEXY: Lifts sagging brows and outside eye areas through small incisions in hairline.

With these treatments, the results are more natural-looking than the traditional full-face lift, and usually last for a similar amount of time (around ten years). But the main benefit of these minimal access procedures is that they require such a short recovery time – you can book your own procedure for as late as mid-December, and wake up on Christmas morning looking youthful and naturally refreshed!

Consultations at Linia are free and are always held with their specialist cosmetic surgeons.

The Benefits of VASER Ultrasonic Liposuction from Viridian Medical

October 9, 2009 by

Viridian Medical are pleased to announce that they now offer VASER Ultrasonic Liposuction as part of their non-surgical programme.

The new VASER technology represents a dramatic breakthrough in the field of liposuction, as it is a less invasive procedure which produces optimum results.

The original forms of liposuction were performed with a manual sucker and a bit of “elbow grease” from the surgeon. This required a general anaesthetic and a short hospital stay, with a lot of recovery time at home and extensive, painful bruising. And despite all this, its results could be inconsistent and uneven, and leave the patient with a lot of loose skin that would require further surgery.

But at Viridian, those days are in the past with the introduction of the new VASER Ultrasonic Liposuction procedures.

VASER technology works by using ultrasonic waves to break down the problematic areas of fat. This is done by inserting probes into the fatty tissue through half-a-centimetre incisions. Once the ultrasonic waves have broken down the fat, it is then removed from the body via a suction method. Most procedures last for just under an hour.

VASER is commonly used to treat localised deposits of fat that are difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise alone. It should not be considered as a viable treatment for obesity.

Dr. Bea Brookes of Viridian Medical said of the procedure: “VASER is cutting edge technology which allows moderately-sized areas of stubborn fat to be removed in a one-hour session using a special local anesthetic.

“Its safety profile is high and down time is minimal. We provide this in the UK’s leading private clinic, with state of the art facilities performed by a senior consultant.”

Consultations are available at either the Guildford or Windsor offices, with the actual procedures taking place in the Guildford clinic, ideal for potential patients based in the south of England.

Prices for VASER treatment are according to the size of the area being treated, which varies between individuals.

For more information about the VASER Ultrasonic Liposuction procedure, or to book a consultation, visit their website.

Linia highlight the benefits of “minimally invasive facelifts”

August 4, 2009 by

People wanting to look and feel refreshed without having to opt for a full traditional facelift can find the ideal solution at leading cosmetic surgery providers Linia. They have one of the country’s most experienced and highly regarded facial rejuvenation experts, Mr Azhar Aslam working with them, who offers a variety of minimally invasive face-lift techniques, to suit every need and age group.

Facial ageing is the result of four main factors – environmental, volume loss due to a reduction in fat and thinning of the skin, the effects of gravity and underlying fascia and muscles.

Mr Aslam, of Linia Cosmetic Surgery, works with patients to create successful rejuvenation programmes based on their individual needs. This usually combines surgical and non-surgical treatments used together to create a personalised plan, which achieves a more balanced natural look, by addressing all of the factors outlined above.

Mr Aslam commented “Many people tend to think that it’s only older people, maybe in their 50’s or 60’s, who seek facial rejuvenation in order to achieve a more youthful and smoother look, but now that’s no longer the case. Since offering minimally invasive facelifts, we have treated many patients from the age groups 30 and upwards. Premature ageing of the skin is encouraging people to seek improvement at an earlier age, but they are looking for something more subtle and very natural looking, such as the S-Lift, which leaves a short, less obvious scar. This is where we can offer them an ideal solution.”

At Linia, these minimally invasive lifts can be peformed using local anaesthetic with the option of twilight sedation. It’s the ideal solution for those patients who would like facial surgery but do not want, or cannot have, a general anaesthetic. Using local anaesthesia  produces a better result and is more beneficial for the patient as they can be treated on a day case basis and are able return home shortly afterwards for recovery. It’s widely recognised that patients recover better when they are at home in their own surroundings.

Minimally invasive or short scar lifts include S-Lift, N-Lift, MACS Lift, Chin Lift, Lateral and Median Browpexy, Frown Line Reduction Surgery, Lower Eyelid and Line Removal and Upper Lift & Fullness. For an overal naturally refreshed look, these are often combined with non-surgical methods such as Wrinkle Reduction Injections, dermal fillers and peels.

Linia report big increase in men seeking cosmetic surgery despite the credit crunch

July 15, 2009 by

Leading cosmetic surgery experts Linia have seen a sharp rise in the number of men seeking to improve their looks and physique through surgery, despite the economic downturn. Procedures such as facelifts, eyelid surgery and gynaecomastia, known more commonly as male breast reduction, are all proving to be hugely popular.

The blight of so-called ‘Man Boobs’ or ‘Moobs’ is driving an increasing number of men to seek help from Linia’s cosmetic surgeons. This common condition is often the result of a  hormonal imbalance or it can be brought on by medication prescribed for other conditions. Later on in life male breasts can become enlarged due to obesity with deposition of fat in the breast area. Either way, it can be a particularly distressing and embarrassing problem, which can easily be treated by surgery.

At Linia, this procedure and many others, including facelifts, eyelift surgery and liposculpture are available under local anaesthetic with the option of twilight sedation. This is proving to be a popular choice for both men and women alike as with local anaesthesia there is a quicker recovery time and a shorter hospital stay, therefore less time is taken from their often busy lives. It’s the ideal opportunity for those people who have held themselves back from having the surgery they’ve always desired as a general anaesthetic was the only option. You can read about Linia’s real patient experiences of surgery under local anaesthetic by visiting the ‘in the media’ section of Linia’s website at www.liniacosmeticsurgery.com

Linia’s head surgeon Azhar Aslam commented ‘Most people tend to think it’s just women who consider cosmetic surgery, but we are now treating an increasing number of men who approach us for many different reasons. From men who want to improve their body shape and physique, to those who wish just to turn the clock back a little, we have treatment plans we can tailor to suit all of our patient’s needs.’

‘Our non-surgical options are appealing to men as they offer a more subtle and refreshed look and leave no obvious ‘tell tale signs’ of surgery. They are also a quick and less expensive way to regain a more youthful look with immediate results. Wrinkle reduction injections are an extremely popular choice as they smooth away the signs of ageing, particularly around the eye area”

Linia’s Bristol Clinic now offering Local Anaesthetic options for cosmetic surgery

July 2, 2009 by

Leading cosmetic surgery experts Linia are at the forefront of providing cosmetic surgery using local anaesthetic with the option of sedation. Until now they have been offering a number of their surgical procedures under local anaesthetic from London, Manchester and Huntingdon clinics. Now Linia is able to offer this popular service from their Bristol clinic, allowing Bristol patients the option of surgery without having far to travel.

People are often put off cosmetic surgery as they do not want or cannot have a general anaesthetic. Also general anaesthetic carries its own specific risks. Performing procedures with local anaesthetic has many benefits for the patient, including a quicker recovery. It can also be less invasive and less expensive.

Linia has forged the way ahead with many popular procedures available with this option. Procedures include eyelid surgery, facelifts, breast re-shaping and enlargement, nipple surgery and scar revision.

Indeed, Linia were one of the first to pioneer the ‘lunchtime boob-job’ and also to perform facelifts using local anaesthetic. Here are a couple of extracts from articles which were featured in the Daily Mail from Linia patients who chose the local anaesthetic option.

Claire Harrison was one of the first women in the UK to have a lunchtime breast augmentation. Claire stated “It has really changed my outlook on surgery. I was in the clinic for only three hours – the equivalent of a long lunch with a client. Just two weeks after the operation I felt completely back to normal and was doing the housework and the school run. My new breasts look fantastic and having the operation has made such a difference. I feel so much more confident.”

Frances Carter, a former nurse, was delighted with the results of her facelift under local anaesthetic – “When Mr Aslam had finished he let me look in a mirror while I was still in the operating theatre. I could see straight away what a brilliant job he had done. The other bonus was that it didn’t take much time to recover. Everyone has said how natural it looks. My husband thinks I look a lot better too, and has finally admitted that the operation was a good idea”

Non-surgical treatments, the perfect answer for affordable beauty during the Credit Crunch

June 23, 2009 by

A recent national report has shown that more people than ever are now turning to non-surgical cosmetic enhancements such as wrinkle reduction injections , fillers, peels, semi-permanent make-up, teeth whitening and thread vein removal, as an effective way of maintaining their looks and youth. For many, this is a perfect alternative to help slow down the signs of ageing if they cannot afford the expense or the recovery time following invasive surgery.

Wrinkle reduction injections or dermal fillers can look very subtle and give a naturally refreshed and youthful look, which is why they are so popular and often regarded as a favourable alternative to surgery. Non-surgical treatments largely offer immediate results without long recovery periods and can be performed as outpatient procedures.

Cosmetic Surgery providers, Linia have seen the popularity of non-surgical procedures grow, particularly over the last year. Their leading surgeon Azhar Aslam says “Non-Surgical options are certainly on the increase. This is down to many factors including lower costs, convenience, safety and shorter treatment time. More importantly fillers can be used for more than just simple lip enhancements or filling the lines. Various long lasting fillers can be used these days to enhance cheeks and chin too. Similarly Botulinum toxin is extremely effective in achieving Sweat reduction. This means we can do lot more things with nonsurgical treaments than before.

Although Non-surgical treatments are now more readily available than ever, one should be very careful when choosing a practitioner. Even though the treatments are ‘non-surgical’, there can still be risks to the patient if administered by an untrained or inexperienced therapist. At Linia, the safety of our patients is imperative. All of our non-surgical treatments are carried out by our consultant cosmetic surgeons within a hospital or clinical environment. “

To find out more about the non-surgical solutions available at Linia, visit www.liniacosmeticsurgery.com . Linia offer free consultations and hold non-surgical clinics on a regular basis. To book your appointment call 0845 230 1700.
